Essie has been cast as Alison Mayhew in Netflix’s One Day. The upcoming series is adapted from David Nicholls’s romance novel. Davis will be playing the part of the male lead’s mother. Leo Woodall will be playing Essie’s son Dexter, opposite Ambika Mod as Emma Morley. One Day was shot earlier this year and is expected to be released in 2023.
